One of the most memorable sights is the ‘statue of the Redeemer’ built high up on the mountainside overlooking the entire panorama where the view includes the coast and the mountains behind. Standing at 21 m high with an arm span of 19m this is a haunting sight when it is floodlit at night.
This part of the coast is truly spectacular with hordes of small beaches and grottoes and Mediterranean vegetation covering the rugged hillsides.

Access to Acquafredda by road: motorway A3 Salerno – Reggio Calabria. Exit at Lagonego north and follow directions to Maratea on the SS18.
